Angel Di Maria is MU's worst contract in the Glazer era
In 2014, the Red Devils broke the English football transfer record at that time when they bought Di Maria from Real Madrid for 60 million pounds. The Argentine winger also became the club's second highest-earning star with a salary of £200,000 per week, behind only Wayne Rooney.
Di Maria spent just one season at Old Trafford, scoring 4 goals and contributing 12 assists in 32 appearances in all competitions. He joined Paris Saint-Germain the following summer for £44 million.
Recently, Stand host Beth Tucker criticized Di Maria and called the 2022 World Cup champion the worst contract in MU history under the Glazer family's reign.
Tucker said: "Di Maria does not deserve to wear the number 7 shirt, not only does he not play well enough on the field but he also completely disrespects the club in many interviews... If I have to say bad contract MU's best player under Glazer's management, I would choose Di Maria just because I really hope he will shine. However, in the end he only left disappointment, not only on the field but also off. yard again."
Di Maria later admitted that he had tensions with Louis van Gaal and that the house burglary was one of the main reasons why he cut short his stay at Manchester United. Furthermore, in an interview with TyC Sports in September 2021, Di Maria said that he was "not at all concerned" about being given the number 7 shirt at Manchester United.
Di Maria is currently playing for Portuguese club Benfica and is still shining brightly for the Argentina national team. Turning 35 years old, "Angel" officially announced that he will bid farewell to La Albiceleste after the 2024 Copa America ends.
