Stars shine brightly after leaving MU
Ronaldo, Pereira, Fred... all had impressive performances after being removed from the plan by coach Erik ten Hag.
Anthony Elanga (Nottingham Forest)
Last weekend, Elanga scored again but could not help Nottingham win points against Bournemouth. However, the Swedish player has contributed to 7 goals in the Premier League this season (4 goals, 3 assists), a higher achievement than the entire Man United attack combined.
Alex Telles (Al Nassr)
While MU was in crisis at the left-back position, even having to pull Sofyan Amrabat down to play in defense, coach Erik ten Hag pushed away a highly rated star, Telles. After winning the Europa League championship with Sevilla, the Brazilian player returned to Old Trafford but had no place, and then had to move to Al Nassr. This season, the former Porto star is playing impressively in the Saudi Pro League. Last weekend, he also scored a super goal against Al Ettifaq.
Fred (Fenerbahce)
After leaving MU, Fred became an important factor in Fenerbahce's squad. The Brazilian midfielder has played 18 matches in all competitions for home club Sukru Saracoglu this season, contributing 2 assists and achieving a 100% win rate.
Cristiano Ronaldo (Al Nasr)
Coach Ten Hag removed Ronaldo, the striker who scored 18 goals in the Premier League 2021/22, to be replaced by Wout Weghorst and Rasmus Hojlund, two strikers who have not scored a goal in the last 31 matches in the Premier League. While MU's attack reached the bottom of its form, Ronaldo flourished with 51 goals in 2023, an achievement only inferior to Harry Kane and Kylian Mbappe (both 52 goals).
Andreas Pereira (Fulham)
Last summer, Ten Hag sold Pereira to make room for Mason Mount and Amrabat. After leaving MU, Pereira flashed to become one of the most watchable midfielders in the Premier League. The Brazilian player can play as both a central midfielder and an attacking midfielder and has made his mark with 1 goal and 4 assists. Meanwhile, at Old Trafford, the two new recruits coach Ten Hag brought in both performed far below expectations.
Mason Greenwood (Getafe)
Greenwood was acquitted but could not return to the MU squad due to pressure from the media. In La Liga, the young British star shined with 5 goals and 6 assists. Meanwhile, a player that coach Ten Hag trusts a lot, Antony has only had one assist in the League Cup so far.
