The UK and Ireland host Euro 2028

Due to Türkiye's withdrawal, the United Kingdom and the Republic of Ireland will win the right to host the Euro 2028 finals.

It wasn't until October 10, in Nyon, Switzerland, that UEFA announced the host country for Euro 2028 and Euro 2032. But Sports Mail confirmed on October 4 that the UK and the Republic of Ireland will definitely organize the event together. Big event in 2028.

Wembley Stadium will host a number of matches at Euro 2028

Last year, the Football Associations of England, Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland agreed to abandon the plan to host the 2030 World Cup, in order to focus on winning the right to host Euro 2028. Above is that Turkey has just withdrawn to race to host Euro 2032 with partner Italy.

The UK and Ireland still need official approval at the UEFA Executive Committee meeting on October 10. Accordingly, UEFA will approve the hosting rights after the Football Federations of the countries running for hosting make a speech in the form of a presentation.

The six stadiums in England expected to host Euro 2028 are Wembley, Villa Park, St James' Park, Etihad, Tottenham Hotspur and Everton's new stadium under construction, Bramley Moore Dock. The remaining four stadiums in other countries are the Principality Stadium in Cardiff (Wales), Aviva in Dublin (Republic of Ireland), Hampden Park in Glasgow (Scotland) and Casement Park in Belfast (Northern Ireland). The Euro 2028 finals still have 24 teams competing, with a total of 51 matches.

The only problem is that UEFA wants England, Northern Ireland, the Republic of Ireland, Scotland and Wales to still participate in the Euro qualifiers. It is expected that there will only be two home spots for teams that do not qualify. If more than two home teams fail to enter the final round through the qualifying round, only the two teams with the best records among them will win tickets.
